Peter Stacey - Meet the Open Pit Slope Design Expert Live

EduMine - Professional Development and Training for Mining

Summary
This course presents an overview of design and management of slopes in open pit mines. It covers the information required to support a slope design, methods of data collection, and design procedures for bench configurations, inter-ramp slopes and overall slopes. Specific examples of design will be presented and discussed in the class to illustrate the factors that affect pit slope stability. Designs will be discussed in terms of both mine operating procedures and optimization of pit slope stability. The aspects of risk associated with pit slope design and excavation will be presented, together with monitoring methods for pit slopes and other management procedures.
